Enquiry
As per Sheet 29 of Contract Drawings provided in RFP “ GWP 5569-09-00 Contract 2018-5125 Drawings”, the distance between PT1 and PT2 exceeds the 366m maximum distance required stated in “Use of Portable Temporary Traffic Signals (PTTS) (Memo TO #2016-01, November 30, 2016) With Attached Appendix A: Layout Drawings 1 to 4”. Can the Ministry please provide direction as the design does not meet the standards specified above?

Response
If Portable Temporary Traffic Signals are utilized for the replacement of the Nagagamisis Lake Narrows Bridge (Site #38N-00) the staging detour may require more than the recommended 366 metres between Portable Temporary Traffic Signals as outlined in “Use of Portable Temporary Traffic Signals (PTTS) (Memo TO #2016-01, November 30, 2016).” The only ministry approved deviation from Memo TO #2016-01 is the exceeded distance between two interconnected PTTS devices to a maximum distance of 403 metres at the Nagagamisis Lake Narrow Bridge (Site #38N-00). It is the responsibility of the Design Builder/Contractor that the PTTS equipment has the capability to communicate the extended distance.
