Two questions on the same issues: Question 1 - Sheet 25 of the DBR Contract drawings (document 29A of Appendix C) shows three culverts flowing in series from east to west in the following order: Culvert PR-04 (size discrepancies as noted below in question 2), Culvert PR-02 (2400x1500), then Culvert PR-14 (1800x1200). Please clarify why the culvert sizes progressively become smaller in the downstream direction, which seems counter to typical design/sizing practices. Question 2 - On Sheet 25, Culvert PR-04 appears to be shown as a twin barrel culvert while on Sheet 35A, Culvert PR-04 is labelled as 3 sets of twin 1800x1200 box culverts (total of six structures). The drainage report further lists PR-04 as a single 2400x1500 box culvert. Please clarify these discrepancies.

1. As detailed in the response to Question 2, the culvert PR-04 is 2400 x 1500. Therefore, culvert PR-04 is the same size as culvert PR-02. Culvert PR-09 and PR-14 are substandard in size because they connect directly to the existing culvert EX-07, which is to remain in-place. Please refer to Section 3.2 and 3.3 in the DBR drainage report (Document #41). 2. The box culvert left and right inverts are also shown on Sheet 35A due to the culvert skew. However, the drainage report is correct that the box culvert size should be a single 2400 x 1500. The Design-Builder shall be responsible for undertaking the hydraulic analysis for all culverts within the study limits and completing the detail design and construction of all culverts. Please refer to addendum 10 (RFP Addendum 7).
