Height Restriction – Niagara District Airport and NAV Canada. Could the client please clarify if there are any height restrictions for high mast lighting poles based on the Niagara District Airport and NAV Canada standards, which differ from the MTO standard? Any restrictions will significantly affect the high mast lighting design.

Please refer to Section 2.4.4.1 and 2.4.11.3 of the RFP documents • Section 2.4.4.1 of the RFP states that the Design-Builder shall be responsible for preparing and submitting a Land Use Submission Form to the Niagara District Airport and NAV Canada for new high mast light poles and retrofitting existing high mast light poles. The submission will also indicate the conversion of high pressure sodium lighting to LED lighting. • Section 2.4.11.3 of the RFP states that the Design-Builder shall be responsible for preparing and submitting a Land Use Submission Form to the Niagara District Airport and NAV Canada for the new high mast light poles, and retrofit of the existing LED and high mast equipment. The Design-Builder shall indicate the conversion of high pressure sodium lighting to LED lighting in the submission. The Design-Builder shall obtain all permits at their cost. Based on our current information, the restricted “Outer Surface Area” starts at 140m above sea level. All existing high mast poles installed as part of Contract 2003-2010 meet this requirement. All new high mast poles and all other installation must also meet this requirement.
