Regarding Roadway Protection Systems @ Speed River Bridges. The response to Bid Enquiry 015 is confusing. Please confirm that based on staging drawings, that Roadway Protection Systems are required at the centre median line for the reconstruction of both Speed River Bridge structures. This has not been indicated on the drawings. This is in addition to the centreline roadway protection systems shown on the drawings for both the EBL's and WBL's. What Item # are we to include the costs for the centre median line roadway protection systems for the reconstruction of both Speed River Bridge structures. Note that the both Speed River Bridge centreline median roadway protection systems appear to conflict with the high mast light bases.

Roadway protection systems along the centre median line will be required for construction during Stages 2 and 3. The Contractor shall determine if the protection system at each stage is independent or if one protection system can be utilized for both stages. The cost for the centre median roadway protection system shall be applied to the item for the structure which is most directly dependent upon the protection system. In order to address a potential conflict between the protection system and the high mast light pole foundation/barrier wall, a revised Plan Layout and General Arrangement drawing for each channel of the Speed River bridges showing a revised protection system alignment, has been provided in Addendum 4.
